Bit of a different video... length and style. The video is full length cut of the IAM (Institue of Advanced Motorists) Motorcycle test. Lighting and sound is a bit weird, its a onboard dashcam style setup for a motorbike. But I didn't want to be faffing with gopros during an advanced test. Did I pass or fail? My 206 GTi 2003 has been the worst purchase i've ever made for a daily driver and it's not even close. Everything is slowly failing, it's rusting out completely in the back, ABS is not working, CV boot has torn, clunks everywhere, AC is bad, steering is stiff, brake booster is pushing air out of the brake master cylinder so it sounds like an air leak all the time, exhaust is rusted out and barely hanging on, bad contact in the blinkers lever, and so on. The best part is it only has 100k miles and it's in this shape.. Only good thing about the car is that it's awesome in the corners, steers very well. But also not much better than a 97 civic I had, which worked like a charm.

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower 8 годин тому

      Sounds like for most of the last 30k, no one put any time or money into maintaining it. . . If you did that with any car from 2003, you'd have the same results... Or maybe much worse tbh! Rusting is odd though. Maybe been in salty conditions a lot

    Weird how on the fz6 you don't get further adjustment like on the R6. Might just try fitting the 5EB clutch cover and cable I have lying around on the fz6.

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower 3 дні тому

      What further adjustment can you get from the R6 cable setup? I found after fitting this with the adjuster at the lever, I can get the clutch feel bob on tbh.

    • @redlinerichard77
      @redlinerichard77 3 дні тому

      @PiggyPower It just gives it that little bit more feel and adjustment between the 5mm of Clutch freeplay you get at the lever. Haven't done the Clutch arm swap yet so at the moment the Fz6 sometimes feels very 'all or nothing' compared to the R6 in traffic and during u turns. Was very surprised you don't get that further adjustment given its mostly the same engine. Even my R125 had an adjuster after the lever. (Cost cutting I guess from Yamaha 🤷)

    Just replaced one on a berlingo 1.6 hdi van 2017. Unless you remove the sump and exhaust, there is no way you can get a hack saw in there, believe me, I tried. I used a dremel and cut a vee in the outer race, difficult and time consuming, but it worked. Informative video non the less. Thank you. Also, I ordered the Bush and it came in one piece, not 2 halves. The instructions say to press it on using washing up liquid. I was very dubious but it did go in with the help of a large adjustable wrench.

      @@PiggyPower Same, I am a builder who has always fixed cars on the side, (because I am poor and end up doing it - lucky I am fairly good at it) but my question is simple. Who designs cars and says that the best place to put something that may need to be maintained is hidden under the dash, not with the bank of fuses in an easy to access place with a plastic cover on it? Then they cover the engine with plastic so you cannot get to anything directly either.

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower 15 днів тому

      The fan resistor gets really hot when used so they place it in the ductwork to get air flow for cooling. Some are easier to get to than others... But they do rarely fail. Access to oil filters, service items though ... Yes, I'd like to speak with designers!!!! Modern stuff is insane for trying to do basic servicing.

    • @brucelez1
      @brucelez1 12 днів тому

      I used to do everything when things were simple, even an engine rebuild on a fiat punto. However now I have warning lights for airbags on almost every car I have ever owned, and I fix it with a OBDII diagnostic tool - if the light is out it is fixed because it is generally a sensor with water or dirt in it anyway.

    I have a 2017 Peugeot Tepee, partner with windows in Mexico, with a 1.6hdi motor. The fan is stuck on one blower speed. The dash switch does nothing. Bought this resistor, removed cover plate above pedal housing and it’s not located above the accelerator pedal. Any idea where it’s located on this model?

    I’m changing my phase 1 to phase 3 body panels and your videos have been extremely helpful, you are very good at explaining how each part actually attaches to one another, I’m very new to working on Peugeots as it took me a long while to find a 306 in the spec I wanted to own, in New Zealand they are a very uncommon car, working on it has been a breeze thanks to you!

    How is the snatchy throttle? Over the winter in the cold air, mine didn't really do it? Then, a ride on a warm evening recently, the mid range on /off snatch was back. I read you had a dyno tune? Thanks

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower Місяць тому

      Still there. Yeah some say the inline tuner helps which tricks to ECU into thinking it's colder than it is...but I didn't find it did anything. I've had a tune now. It absolutely rips and but the snatchy off to roll on is still there. I've got one thing left to try. And then gotta live with it I guess. I hate it though when riding quick and mid corner roll on...waiting and then BAM!

    Bro i have a 9 year’s old diesel engine suv Now a days i am facing powerloss with check engine warning after each 900-1000 km I used to turn off engine and start again Then the check engine and power-loss will disappear and again after 900-1000 km powerloss and check engine will appear So i scanned my car the code show fuel rail pressure low The technician told me to clean fuel tank and fuel line Is this the correct way? Or should I replace fuel pump

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower Місяць тому

      Is there lots of junk in the fuel tank?? Or reason to be? Unless you put terrible dirty fuel in your tank regularly.... Something else is causing the low fuel pressure. Could be pump, regulator, dying injectors, lift pump (if you have one), blocked fuel filter... Need to do a proper diagnosis.

    Thanks again Piggy! Another fantastic walkthrough that helped me through my first timing belt change successfully.... The car wouldn't start after the change and I couldn't figure out why. I double and triple checked the timing and it was perfect. Took a while to figure it out, but I damaged the magnetic (I think?) strip going round the crankshaft gear, upsetting the sensor. The belt change was perfect, but I need to replace the gear. Not the most expensive of parts to be fair and with a new pump, idlers and tensioner, it's probably not a bad idea anyway... In your experience, do they come out easy enough? I can see a removal tool/puller on Euro for a tenner Thanks again! You're completely redefining "pig of a job" Scott

    My god I can't believe you actually did all this toil and sweat on one of these things. The car is a total heap of misery. Credit to all you guys, but honestly... I owned a 207 from 2007, worst car and engine on the planet. Total hell to own, a constant money pit and scrapped when the engine seized at 23000 miles. Serviced impeccably by a peugeot main dealer. No disrespect, but a car is built to be driven, not constantly stripped. You could gladly have had mine free of charge. Never anymore peugeot, I now drive an electric Hyundai. I could not spend another second staring at "Depolloution System Faulty" and hearing that high pitched bleep. Your video gives me the shudders , horrific memories. It will bite you back you know, I hope you realise that ! They are a mechanics friend not a drivers. Good luck with your work, but I'm outa here......

      I didn't keep it, wasn't mine, was my cousin's. Horrendous/awful cars. I hate them. What's worse is the 1.4 16v which was a Collab with BMW like the 1.6... just absolutely awful engines. However I do know 1000s have loved their 207s. But I don't like them. Not even slightly. A blight on Peugeots track record. So don't judge Peugeot on the 207 🤣 My 2000 Peugeot 306 HDi is possibly the best daily I've ever had ... Done 12k miles in last 6months alone, not missed a beat. Bought it for £450 nearly 5yrs ago, done 60k in it so far

      @@PiggyPower Thank you for restoring my sanity with that acceptable explanation. Good on you for tackling the challenge with a good heart. Mine was the 207sw with 1.6 vti sport petrol engine. Brought new from dealer. 1st new cylinder HEAD (Not just gasket), @ 1500 miles, 18 month. New clutch, 8 years, 15000 miles. Electrical problems with indicators and electric roof almost from the start. Corroded pins on the ecu, Reconditioned cylinder head, 11 years. Perhaps a dozen garage incidents for cam position errors. Endless dpolloution light and sensor problems. I guess the longest it went without incident would be about 8 months. And foolishly I hung onto it for 13 years. When it did work, th thing could hardly climb slight hills when carrying passengers, top speed around 28 mph. It was stuttery, particularly when pulling away as the revs would dip remarkably. Smooth gear changes were impossible. Endless complaints about very low idle speed were never fixed. Then I was ill and could not drive it for over a year. When I was well again, I dreaded getting back behind the wheel, as by then I knew it was capable of biting me back hard, and it certainly did so. Not for the first 3 months, to lull you into a false sense of security, but then calamity. The abs light came on. Weeks after that, the belt snapped and wrote the engine off. 5000 pounds or 250 for scrap. I gladly chose the latter. Ford have this with their ecoboost range, and it's also got into mini and Citroën. It destroyed my faith in the modern engine and I went electric. Before the 207 I had a 206cc for 3 years but that was no trouble. I think it's down to emission standards and cost cutting. I feel sorry for people with the newer models, and that lion badge particularly sends shivers. Ugh !! .
